In the chaotic moments of life do we panic, or do we begin leaning on our faith for God‘s miraculous rescue and relief? In those times that are so dire, out of the ordinary, and perhaps cause us to experience great fear, do we attempt to save ourselves, run away, or do we call out for Jesus? The truth is... When we find ourselves in those dark times and we are struggling, or shaking in fear, we typically do one of three things, we either look inward for our own solution, give up, or lean on our faith, but sometimes the situation is more complicated than we realize, and we do all three!

Faith, it fuels the engine of miracles, and gives wings to our prayers.

How strong is your faith? You might pray for a miracle, but without faith it stalls before it can rise before the throne of God. No prayer is heard and acted upon without the wings of our faith having been attached to it. Are we like Peter in our prayers? Do we begin to walk on water, but look around us, falter in our fear and wavering faith, and then begin to sink?

Seeing God’s Miracles amidst our own efforts

When you are sick with a cold and you pray for healing, then go to the pharmacy to get medicines to treat your runny nose, cough and fever, where do you then place the trust for your healing? We are meant to do what we can to take good care of our bodies, but when we call on both physical and spiritual remedies, do we allow the physical ones to overshadow the spiritual ones? Does your faith supplement the cough syrup, or does the cough syrup supplement your faith?

Waking, I Found that I Am the Child of God

When you rise in the morning, and first open your eyes, are you awakening to the world, or to God? Is your first thought of getting a cup of coffee (or juice) and beginning another day at work, or is it in thanksgiving to the Lord for this day with Him? What does your checklist look like, and is it your own personal one, or is it written for two? These answers depend on who you think you are.

Pride, the Danger in Intercession

Have you ever asked for healing prayer and received relief from your illness as a result? When this happened did you elevate those who prayed for you? If someone sick came to you for prayer, and as a result of your praying for them they were healed did you have a feeling of accomplishment as if you had done this, or felt some small part in the miracle? If either of these is true, then you have misappropriated God’s glory.

Faith and the Pebble of Belief

Do you fear for your children? Does their strength of faith as opposed to all the sin and evil in this world terrify you? No matter who you are, the love of your children brings you terror for them. Given this, if one of your children had just died and Jesus had miraculously healed them what would be your immediate inclination? Wouldn’t it be to fall at His feet, and then to tell everyone about what He had just done? To make believers of them! Wouldn’t it be to shout to the world that this man Jesus Christ was a miracle worker, and exactly who He said He was? Well what if He told you to keep that amazing miracle silent?

As a Christian, are you meant to be sick? What does the Bible tell us about what we should do if we are ill? Well it isn’t a mystery, and is spelled out very clearly. We are meant to be healed. Yet, so many of us think that although Jesus and the disciples healed, that this is a dead practice today... well it isn’t. The gift of healing is just as alive today as it was in the time of Jesus, and it continues to happen in the Church today.

Miracles; The Breath of a Living God

There are many who study the Bible, and upon reading of the healings and other miracles come to the conclusion that those days must have been the “times of miracles”, and convince themselves that we are not living in such times today. Friends, there is no biblical foundation for such thought, as a matter of fact Jesus taught by using miracles, just as we see in the Old Testament, and He teaches us that we too will perform and receive miracles today.

Is your belief in Miracles a Miracle?

Can we perform miracles today? I can’t tell you how many times I have heard that question asked, but by merely posing the question we are pointing to the reason why so many ask it in the first place... faith, or the lack thereof. Have you reconciled yourself to the fact that miracles were a thing of the past, or do you grasp hold of this gift and see them performed today?

Faith and Will; the Tears and Purpose of Miracles

How is your faith? Are you strong in it, or is it lacking in some regard? Can you move a mountain, or do you think your faith is too small to move even a grain of sand? The disciples were chastised by Jesus on more than one occasion for their lack of faith, so do not lose heart, but ask God why you can’t do a thing, or why you don’t receive. You may find that in some cases it has less to do with faith than you think.
