All in God’s Plan

When we wait upon God to answer our prayers do we think He is idly biding His time while we suffer and fret needlessly? Do we think that God suddenly responds when He is good and ready by doing this thing in one sweeping gesture? Well God’s ways are not ours, and His plans for us are intricate. To answer our one simple prayer causes Him to realign the stars that shine around the world... the ripple of His changed plan is felt far and wide. Yet He loves us this much.

Are you proud of the faith you have? Is your nose held high as you look down on the faithfulness of others? Do you go to church thinking “What a great Christian I am!”, or that you have built such a wonderful church building for God... isn’t it beautiful, and He most certainly comes here because of my exquisite handiwork! If you entertain thoughts such as these then my friend, you are teetering on the precipice of hell. God works in us, and our work without His presence means nothing. Jesus prepares a place for us, and we have nothing to prepare for Him, or offer Him, except our humbled heart that longs to believe in Him, and love Him.

Have we been working at completing the repairs to our broken and sinful lives? Have we been sufficiently separating ourselves from the world’s corruption that flails about around us? When Jerusalem was destroyed, and made rubble, it was repaired, and those repairs were not viewed as complete until the wall that protected the city from the world was rebuilt. What is the condition of our wall?

Who plans your life? Are you busy laying out the future details regarding where you are going, what you will accomplish, or the places you will rest and take sustenance? If these plans are being made by anyone other than God then you will lead an unfulfilled life indeed. His plan, and His will are more than an aside... they are the sole road through life which will lead us to a joyous eternity with Him.

We get married, and if we are so blessed, then we have children. From the moment we decide to bring each of these new lives into the world we begin to make plans for them; we want the best for them. It is the same with God, and He has a plan for each of our lives; a plan made long before we were born... or even conceived. These plans, both ours and God’s, can only be accomplished if the child gives all their effort as they strive to know and do their parent’s will. Are you a fully engaged participant in God’s plan for you?
