All in Expectation

Did we come to know Jesus by looking for an easy way through life, and into eternity? Were we seeking an escape from persecution, and to be continuously protected from harm? If that was the case our search was in vain, and we need only look at His life to understand that. Jesus warns us to be vigilant, and to know that there are those who will want to do us harm, but in the end our souls will find their reward despite the trouble that is in the world, and we will rejoice in our earthly calamity simply for having known Jesus.

Expecting a miracle, and being confident in our rescue; such behaviors have a profound impact on our psyche, wellbeing, and our spiritual health. When we lean on our God in full expectation that He will do the things He has promised, not doubting His presence, and relying confidently on His Word, then He will strengthen us, and neither our bodies, nor minds will fail, and He will heal our souls.

We wait on God for those things we ask of Him in our prayers, the healing, the provision, the protection, and sundry other requests, but even more than those, do we wait on Him to reveal and return His Son Jesus Christ to claim us? Do we pray every day, throughout the day, for the return of Christ, or are we perfectly satisfied in this life? Certainly we have daily needs in this world to pray for, but none greater than the homecoming of our Lord Jesus.
