Expecting a miracle, and being confident in our rescue; such behaviors have a profound impact on our psyche, wellbeing, and our spiritual health. When we lean on our God in full expectation that He will do the things He has promised, not doubting His presence, and relying confidently on His Word, then He will strengthen us, and neither our bodies, nor minds will fail, and He will heal our souls.
“And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them. But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. And leaping up, he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.”
Acts 3:5-8 ESV
When we look to God, and Jesus Christ in confident expectation God will rescue us, heal us, and certainly do those things for us that are promised in His Word. However, even when we know what God’s Word promises, but have no expectation that He will deliver on it, then we wither away in our lack of belief, and fail in body, mind, and spirit. Our fears overcome us, anxiety takes its toll, and depression sets in. Strong bones, mind, and a healthy body rise up from a healthy and robust faith...
“And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.”
Isaiah 58:11 ESV
Yes, our faith can dictate not only our spiritual wellbeing, but or physical and mental health as well. When we lean on God’s word in times of trouble, and expect His miraculous relief from trouble, then not only is our spirit bolstered, but our body, and mind follow too. We receive peace, and are made joyful in the expectation that God will provide, and these things that thrive on faith are like medicine to us...
“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
Proverbs 17:22 ESV
So when we face hardship, danger, or even death, we should trust in the Lord, and know that He hears your prayers, and sees our situation. Whatever comes afterward will be in accordance with His Word, His will, and in the end be good. In this we can be confident, and from our faith in Him we will receive His miracles, blessings, and good health.
“Do not be afraid of sudden terror or of the ruin of the wicked, when it comes, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.”
Proverbs 3:25-26 ESV
Prayer:
Father, thank you for your faithfulness, and thank you for your steadfastness that allows us to lean on you in confidence and expectation. Thank you Holy Father for the good health that flows from our faith in you, and that overcomes the disease of uncertainty that eats away at us body, mind, and soul. Holy, Holy, Holy, are you who stands firm in your every promise. Praised be your name for the assurance we have in your Word, and your love for us. You keep us from stumbling Over ourselves, and defeat the darkness that would creep into us. Great are you who comes to our rescue, and good are you who answers only our prayers that are within your will, and do us no harm. Hear our prayers Father, and whether in immediate answer, or silent pause, feel our confidence in you, and our faith as we wait expectantly on you. You are our healer, and your Son Jesus our Great Physician, keep us healthy as we await your miracles, and rescue. Father, we trust you with our lives, both earthly, and spiritual, and we walk confidently in you through our living, and even into our dying. In all of life we live in expectation of an eternity with you, and hold firm to your promises now, and forevermore.
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Hebrews 4:16 ESV
