Perfected and Sealed in the Earthen Jar of Jesus

02/28/2026

As a Christian do we concentrate on who Jesus Christ is? When asked about Him do we tell of what He did, how He redeemed us, and that He taught us things like loving our neighbor as ourselves? These things are all true, but do we also tell them that He is the jar of clay that holds within it the essence of our lives, the container in which we are meant to eternally dwell? Do we reveal to them that He has so changed us that He has become engrained in the DNA of our lives; and that we are so completely interwoven that to extract Him from our being would certainly destroy us? If we can tell them this, then our faith will have become the fullness of Christ, and we will no longer find satisfaction in who Christ is, but in who we are in Him, and He in us.

“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 1:30-31 KJV

There is no part of a believer that Jesus does not touch and perfect. He is more than the cloak we wear, and the voice we speak, His is the life blood that runs through us, and the bread within our stomachs that nourishes us and makes us whole.

“He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.”

John 6:56 KJV

By abiding in us He carries God’s life throughout us, and sustains us, for His is the manifest blood of life, and the food of eternity. Jesus is God’s agent of spiritual conversion that through His perfection we too will become perfect.

“This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.”

John 6:50, 57 KJV

So once consumed, both physically and spiritually, Jesus becomes more than He who redeems us, we no longer exist except that He is in us, and we within Him. He will have become the jar that contains us, the vessel that was set aside, and made holy for the purpose of completing the wine that is us. We will have no form except His, no hope save that which He gives us, and without Him we will be spilt upon the ground and become as nothing. But, in Him we will have become the perfect wine on the table of God, and the sweet scent and taste that pleases the Great I Am. We will be the endless pleasure that God finds in us… his own children.

“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”

Romans 8:17 KJV

At that time, when He is finally completed in us, “He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” For we will have become that which sings of God’s glory, and indeed a full portion of the Glory of God Himself. So, when we are asked about Jesus, let’s tell of those things that Jesus did and taught, but more than this let’s tell of what He has done in us, and we have become in Him. Only then we will hear Him say, as he did upon Calvary, “It is finished.” And the earthen jar in which we have been placed will be sealed.

Prayer:

Father, thank you for your Son Jesus Christ who lived, died, was resurrected, and ascended into heaven that I might be forgiven of sin, and made perfect before you in Him. I thank you not only for those things He has done, and is, but for what He has made me. I thank you for the changes to my very being, spirit, and soul that dwelling in Him has brought, and for the eternity that lies ahead with you. How amazing are you Father, and how endless is your Grace, and Glory. It is true Holy Father that... “when we’ve been there ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun, there will be no fewer days to sing [your] praise than when we first begun.” I long for that first day, and all those that follow as I worship you in spirit and truth... and sing praises to you, while glorifying your name. You are mighty, yet you treat me with such gentleness. You are bold but your touch is so soft. You voice causes mountains to tremble, and yet it soothes my soul... how great you are in all of these things and more. As your love for me is manifest your Glory is revealed, and I worship and praise you all the more... my love for you sprouts wings and soars, for you are my Father and in your house I am content.

“When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”

John 19:30 ESV

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”

Psalms 23:6 KJV

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, and Amen!
