Being forgiven when we believe there is none left

Men and women today, like the nation of Israel in the time of Hosea, can find that they have wandered far from the Lord, and become abominations in His eyes, but even in such a state His love remains for them, and He patiently seeks after them, and calls them back to Him. Are there those among us who have become whores to the world, similar to how Hosea described Israel? Do we sell ourselves to the highest bidder, and think that what we receive in pay comes from anyone but God? Do we worship false gods as Israel worshiped Baal? Well there is hope because although He will lead them into a wilderness alone, He will speak to them there, and rekindle their faith.

For those of us who have come to see even a glimmer of the glory of God through Jesus, we find it inconceivable how someone could not worship Him, and yet so many refuse His call. How is this possible, and how could they be so blind to the truth that is God’s glory? They have become blinded by the gods in the world which they have concocted for themselves... how rampant runs human selfishness that men will lose their soul for a few bobbles of earthly wealth and pleasure.

The Return of Jesus Christ, and our Resurrection Body

To be with God, and Jesus Christ, we must be changed. Laying aside, for a moment, the spiritual transformation we have been undergoing throughout our lives of faith, we are meant to be changed physically as well. This bodily change will not be a lifelong process, but occur in an instant, in a moment, and take place when Jesus returns to claim us. Are we prepared for that instant of indestructible foreverness?

Becoming the Children of God

As true believers in Christ, are we prepared to not only live forever, but to live as the children of God? Can we even imagine the joy that will spring forth as God pours His love out upon us as His sons and daughters? In that moment it will be announced that we have received Jesus as our savior, and the Holy Spirit as our comforter, but even more, that we have overcome sin and death through Jesus. We will then receive what we had only dared to hope for... our acceptance as the children of God.

As we contemplate the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ, how amazing it is that He did all this for us while we were embracing sin, and covered in the filth of the world. He came to us in His perfection, and we met Him dressed in rags, and filled with unrighteousness. Yet He came, He knocked at our heart’s door, and He waited for us; then He mercifully washed us clean from head to foot, and clothed us in righteous attire. Jesus lovingly prepares us, the lost, to meet His Father.
