Do you read a simple devotional each morning? Is it one that speaks the truth to you in an interesting new way, or, heaven forbid, one that takes what is comfortable for you and bends God’s truth to fit it? Finding the right author who doesn’t caudal our humanity at the peril of our spirituality is the struggle... for both the author, who might be doing harm to God’s Word, and ourselves, as we accept a possibly false premise and feel comfortable in its fallacy.

Does our judgement of others convict our own souls? Don't we feel unclean ourselves after having passed Heavenly judgement on those around us? I can't help but think of the separation from God I have felt after having judged another's righteousness in some way. Have you ever felt distanced spiritually in this manner? Scripture is specific about our role in the judgement of others; it doesn't quibble in its language...

Are there those among us who seek a place of power and leadership in the Church as a means of acquiring glory? They may be the wealthy who donate their money, or the poor their time, each meant to achieve personal recognition and honor for themselves, or the scholars who teach outside the Word to elevate themselves. How do we discern those who step between God, and His children? Can we identify the wolves who falsely claim His calling, or those who were once rightfully called but have now been spoiled by their association with the world?
