Do you find yourself impatiently waiting on the Lord? A car races off the road at breakneck speed, you finish a good book before you are ready, or you might come to the end of your life saying ”how did it pass so quickly!”, but when we deal with God there is a very different feeling to time. On many occasions the sense of urgency we apply to the happenings in our lives seems strangely absent with God, while at other times things happen in a flash.

Do you say that you have already done God’s will, and are resting for a time, that you are presently doing God’s will, or that tomorrow you will set out to earnestly do God’s will? In so saying we need to understand time, and what it means when we say these things... one is gone, one is active, and the other a dream. Where do you serve God? Where do you tend to His will? Where do you live your life?

Every country has a beginning. Some were established so long ago that the exact dates have been lost, and they just seem to have always been, but the United States is young enough that it still remembers its birthday... July 4th, 1776. So happy Birthday USA! Religion is no different than countries, or peoples, in that regard, and the Christian faith is the same. We argue about the exact date of Christ’s birth, because the precise day has been lost to conjecture, and antiquity. Is it December?... September?... the discussion continues. What is important though is our own beginning and personal history with Jesus Christ.

Where do you spend your time each day? Do you waste it on frivolous pursuits, or in prayer? Do you read magazines about worldly subjects, or the Bible and other spiritually uplifting material? Do you seek out those places God wills you to visit, or do you wile away your time in ungodly places for no good purpose? How we apportion our time, the activities we pursue, and places we frequent, determines how our faith will grow, and the fruit it will bear. Do we waste our treasure of time, or spend it wisely?
