Who is Jesus in our Eyes and Hearts?

As Christians, how do we speak of our faith in Jesus? Who do we envision Him to be? Do we see Him as a miracle child born of the Virgin Mary? Do we witness Him as a young boy discussing scripture in the temple? Do we see Him as the man who calls out to others to become His apostles? Do we call Him a miracle worker who turns water into wine and walks on water, or do we simply see Him as a great rabbi who teaches powerful truths? Are any of these remembrances at the heart of our expressed faith in Jesus? ___ These are all things that Jesus was... but in our faith He should be much more. We should not only see the risen Christ as crucified... but we should follow Him onto the cross, into the resurrection, and during the ascension. In all these things, which began on Calvary, we will find our life, and by them we can take our next breath in eternity.

Daily Reminders, and our Selective Memory of Jesus

How is your memory these days; specifically, how is your memory regarding Jesus Christ? Do you need to be reminded to think of Him as you go about your day, or is He at the forefront of your thoughts always?  Well, before you answer my question think long and hard. Our memories may not totally fail us, but there are so many times when they momentarily lapse, or perhaps we put things out of our minds… even God, Jesus, and our faith.

What are our Communion Remembrances?

In communion we consume the flesh and blood of Jesus Christ, and as often as we do so, we are told to remember Him, but what are our remembrances? Do we recall His miraculous birth, the Sermon on the Mount, a particular miracle, his passion, death, resurrection, the moment we first embraced Him, or are our thoughts drawn to His return, and how we will become one with Him just as in marriage we become one flesh with our earthly spouse? Do we recall the thought of this ethereal spiritual reunion, and how He has brought peace to a relationship that was once marred by hostility, and by our rampant pursuit of sin?
