All in Answering

Are we at rest today? Do we feel a sense of peace in our lives? I was reading on the subject of being at peace this morning, and contemplating the answer to these two questions as they pertained to my life. I realized that as we look about us and see a world that knows very little if any peace, that it is certainly precious when we encounter such moments in our lives. When we think back on the times when we felt at peace, and were able to rest without the slightest anxious thought to disturb us, we find that one of two things were at play; either we were blissfully ignorant of the world, and our lives, or we were experiencing the true peace of Christ.

Who enters into our heart? In the house of our faith, which is our body, who do we place at the most honored seat at our table, and who do we allow to occupy the master’s bed? We have many who come into our lives, and many who vie for our worship and faith, but there is only one who deserves to be called master. Who is it in your life, your heart, and your soul? To whom have you opened your door?

You have undoubtedly heard the voice and the knocking of Jesus Christ at the door of your heart, and I hope you have let Him in at some point, but are you making Him knock again and again each time He desires to dine with you? Do you constantly treat Jesus as a visitor? Well, He doesn’t want to be a visitor at our door, but a family member in our home.

Do you feel called to serve the Lord, but just can’t seem to satisfy yourself in the answer to His calling? Do you answer “Here am I!”, and yet doubt the significance of what you are giving towards the effort? Well forget the grand desires you may have, and concentrate on giving all of yourself to Him, not to bring Him glory in the earthly sense, but in every little thing He asks of you. Do His will as He would have you do it.
