Before we come to know, believe, and have faith in Jesus Christ we are part and parcel of the fallen world, but once we answer the call of God, who draws us to Himself through His Son Jesus, then we change, and our world changes. We find ourselves set apart from the fallen world that we once knew; it is as if we are caught up, and floating through it surrounded by a clear bubble of faith, able to see it, but insulated from it in a miraculous way. Oh how we long for the day when the fallen world we have left behind will be changed, and our bubble of holy righteousness will engulf it entirely… when the whole earth will be filled with His glory. Is this our prayer, for a glorious and redeemed world? Do we pray the final words of Revelation? “Come Lord Jesus! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all.” Amen
“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things. Blessed be his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory! Amen and Amen!”
Psalm 72:18-19 ESV
Through our faith in Jesus Christ we are changed, and become amazing new creatures. We become the children of God, but we also become His messengers to the world. By our voices we are to call the world to God so that all who are lost will be reconciled to Him. In this way we are working alongside Jesus to fulfill God’s purpose in sending Him to us… to not only save you and me, but as an act of love for the world.
““For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16 ESV
We have partaken of the body of Christ, and sipped His blood from the cup of the New Covenant, but now the bread and the wine have been entrusted to us, and we carry the loaf, and cup to the world. Through us the bread is broken once more, becoming flesh, and the wine becomes the blood of Christ as it cleanses sin from every soul… this is our precious cargo as we travel forth… redemption for all the world.
“All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.”
2 Corinthians 5:18-19 ESV
The day will come when Jesus will return to claim the Church as His bride. On that day the old world will be no more, and all that once was within the bubble of faith, will become the whole of creation once again… Holy, righteous, and the whole of the earth, and all of creation, will glow eternally with the glory of God. However, until that day we are to continue spreading the good news of Christ, and doing all for the glory of God.
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31 ESV
Prayer:
Father, thank you for your Son Jesus, his life, death, resurrection, and ascension as He saved our souls. Thank you for His promised return, and the reconciliation of the whole world to you on that day, but thank you most for using us as your messengers so that all will come to hear your Word, the gospel of Jesus, and that none might be left behind. Holy, Holy, Holy, are you our God who loves the world, and brings your glory to shine upon it. Praised be your name for every ear that hears, eye that sees, and heart that comes to love you in its belief. Merciful are you Father for your grace that flows through Christ, finds voice in the earth by our lips, and saves the world. To this end, wash us in the blood of Jesus and remove all sin and death from us. Make us righteous, and set us aside as your holy children, and messengers of the gospel of Christ until that day when your will is done, and we are called to be with you in Heaven forevermore.
“But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.”
2 Timothy 4:17-18 ESV
“For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdened—not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.”
2 Corinthians 5:4 ESV
