The world is five sunrises away from Christmas morning, and the day we celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Thank God Almighty we aren’t still awaiting His birth, but celebrating that which has already come! As with the birthdays of my own children, I reminisce, and think about that day Jesus was born; it brings the same tears to my eyes. Now He is with us always, every minute, day, and week... so listen as I praise Him... listen as I speak...
Every Day, Every WeekBy Rich ForbesOn Monday He’s my comfort, Tuesday He’s my friendHe’s so many things to me, where should my praise begin? The very best part of every day; the center of every week,He stills my troubled spirit, in quiet prayer we speak. On Wednesday He’s my conscience; brings me back into His houseBible study; praising Him; with family and my spouse; At His feet I learn to live as He would have me do,Knowing when I falter, God’s mercy will see me through.Thursday, He’s the strength I need to make it through the week.He bolsters me when hardships come; strong tower that I seek.Troubles may confront me; and my arms grow weak and quake,But His peace always surrounds me; in Him my strength I take.On Friday He watches over me, lest I run astray,With temptation on all fronts; beside Him I will stay. This world so full of vice and sin can lead us from the pathYet with His hand upon my arm, I avoid God’s righteous wrath.Saturday, he gives me joy; this day that’s mine to use;Though I work through chores and more, his smile I never lose.Favorite verses sung amidst the happy sweat and toil;Great pleasure is mine to sing his name with each spade of soil.Sunday I rest with him, and sing precious songs of praise; This man who laid His life down then ascended from the grave;Bloody, pierced by thorns and spear, breathing his last for me;Bright like the sun to rise again; he set my spirit free.Every minute, day, and week, he shows his love and grace;Lord of Lords, my shining star, I long to see His face.Jesus, forever faithful; carry me like a lambLay me each week at the mighty feet of the great I Am.
