As we look about ourselves today, what do we identify as being our distractions from achieving a fullness of faith, and what are those things that bless us most as we seek out the Lord? When we begin our prayers this morning what will we thank God for, and what will we ask Him to help us to overcome? Sometimes we find that we are blessed most with the little things in our lives... and that it is a myriad of small, seemingly insignificant, sins that rob us of the peace and joy of believing that we seek.

When we perform our works of faith or even kneel to pray, who are we attempting to please? Are our eyes on Jesus and our hearts longing for God, or is there something or someone else who has taken the glory of our efforts? Was it ourselves? I am exploring the motivation behind the acts we do that we claim are of faith this morning, and how we can keep them directed rightly towards the glory of God.

Are we stingy with what God has given us? Do we hold back gifts from those in need, and forget that all we possess is from God? We are to be good stewards of what we have been given, but that doesn’t mean that we are to selfishly horde it, or bury it in the ground as in the parable of the talents. We are to glorify God by giving thanks to Him for His provision, but we should be multiplying our thanks by giving as He directs us, to others so that they too will glorify Him by their thanks.
