We pray for many things over the course of our lives, sometimes we pray thanksgiving for prayers of the past that have been answered, sometimes we pray for things we would like for the Lord to help us with in the future, but how often do we pray for God’s will to be done in the RIGHT NOW? It is easy for us to pray for what has already occurred, or for those thing that we desire to come, but do we see clearly that He is with us, and acting in the RIGHT NOW? Do we see the RIGHT NOW in scripture as we read and pray it?

There are those who are more concerned about how many will be saved, and who will be allowed to enter the Kingdom of God, than they are about whether they are among that number. The real question remains; will we be prepared in our own faith at the time Jesus returns for the righteous? So, let’s ask ourselves, are we one of those who asks persistently “How many?”, and neglects to strive and ask “Will I be one?” We cannot save ourselves by knowing the number who will enter Heaven, no, only by having striven to know Jesus, and by waiting faithfully on Him, can we be among that number… whatever that happens to be.

We face trouble, and complex issues in our lives that we don’t know how to handle. Some of these are life threatening, and others frighten us with their enormity, but regardless of their severity, intensity, or size, we fear failure because our problems are beyond our ability, and we feel powerless against them. So, what do we do? We turn to the Lord our God for help; we lift our eyes unto the Lord. We read these words, and say we believe, but Is this how we behave, and if so do we trust, listen, believe, praise, and then expect him to act? Do we know in our hearts that our salvation is at hand… that the miracle is now?

Do we live our faith in the moment, or is our relationship with God based on what He has already done, or what we want Him to do for us tomorrow? Do we spend so much time in the past and dreaming of the future that we allot little time to what He is doing in our lives right now? There is a verse that we often use to settle ourselves when we are facing troubles, and to strengthen our trust in the fact that although God has done wonderful things in our past, that He will handle our future troubles. We use this verse to overcome our worry about tomorrow, but if we pause here, and read carefully, we will see that, although it speaks about our troubles, it is actually telling us to live in relationship with God right now! Our relationship with Him has a history, but it is more than that, and if we place so much emphasis in what we want to do for Him, or we want Him to do for us, then we will neglect the most important part of any relationship… the embrace, the kiss… or in other words… living in our love, our joy, and our togetherness, right now!
