When we look into the mirror do we consider ourselves to be great men or women of God? Do we have stripes on our sleeves for all to see, as we live the years of our faith for everyone to marvel at? Is our goal for each day to show those around us how mightily we serve God, or the pious nature of our calling? If so, then we had better stop the pompous religiosity and seek out the humility of Christ... we need to be humble like Jesus and give the honor and glory to God. We need to stop boasting about the notoriety of our own righteousness and works and start boasting in God alone.

Some say they are unworthy of God's consideration, and they convince themselves that they are not acceptable vessels for God's grace or to do the Lord's will.  My response to them is this... who are we to judge... even to judge ourselves? By what authority do we determine our worth? You see, we are saved because God loves us, not because we loved Him. Grace is a one-sided covenant that is given by God. We don't earn it, and yet we receive it. How wonderful is this gift of grace.

Is there such a thing as spiritual jealousy that can get in the way of our personal pursuit of faith? Are we ever tempted to look at the walk of another and judge either ourselves, or that person? The answer is yes, and there is danger in this because of its effect on our ability to focus on the faith, and salvation, we are personally meant to seek. Faith is as individual as a fingerprint, and as intimately defining as our DNA. Every individual’s walk of faith is perfectly designed by God for he who walks it.
