What is our role in performing those things that God calls us to? Are we working for God, ourselves, or in concert with God? The answer might surprise you.
This morning I read Oswald Chambers' devotional message titled "Transformed by Insight". He wrote of our becoming a reflection of the Lord when we have been in His presence. This is a discussion that thrills me, and reminds me of not only the outward reflection, but the feeling within.
Sometimes Jesus gives us tasks in life, and we struggle mightily to accomplish them, but do we really understand what our efforts are meant to teach us? We might think that it is about feeding hungry people, but then come to realize that it is more about loving them, or, He might ask us to row a boat across a lake against a strong wind when the real purpose of the effort is to show us who He is when we see Him walking by us on the water. We each need to look at what we are struggling to accomplish in our faith, and find the true lesson within it.
When God reveals His glory, and handiwork, to us what do we do with that revelation? When Jesus appears to us and pours grace over our heads like a warm oil how do we deal with that experience? Do we keep such things to ourselves, or do we tell others, and perhaps the world? If an Angel comes to us in a pasture what is our response?
