When God speaks do we answer straightway? When God says “Come” do we immediately go to Him? When Jesus says “Go do...” are we willing to drop whatever we are presently doing and go? By our very nature we are procrastinators, some of us more than others, but all of us have some degree of this trait in us. However, when God reaches out to us He expects action and not excuses, and for us to obey exactly as He has instructed. Are we obedient children of God?

When Abraham negotiated with God and asked Him to spare Sodom and Gomorrah even if there were only ten righteous people there, and God agreed, was He changing His mind, or revealing to Abraham that He already knew how debase these cities were from the very beginning? When God told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac did He change His mind at the last moment, and realize the error of His ways? Did he have a change of heart, or was His mercy already decided before Abraham took Isaac to Mount Moriah… even before the foundation of the earth?

Who are our friends? Who do we associate with every day? We are told to love our neighbors, and our enemies, and we should, but most of these are not believers in God, and Jesus. So if they are not believers should we just love them… or are we to make them our friends and companions as well? How about making them our close friends, or a BFF (Best Friend Forever)? If this bothers you, would it make a difference if these unbelievers who don’t follow Jesus were law abiding citizens of good moral value? What does scripture tell us about who our friends should be?
