As we walk in the way of the Lord we become stronger in our faith. When we experience the hardships and suffering of life God is provided with opportunities to increase us, and in this way, as we are approaching life in a righteous manner, God not only helps us, but also rewards our belief. However, for those who walk contrary to the way of God there is no betterment, or reward... only self awareness, the pain of conviction, vain attempts to return to joy by their own doing, and destruction at the hand of their self determination.

When you begin to sink into an envy of the world what secures your step? Those who worship the world might look to be prosperous and happy in their wickedness, but their singing lasts only a night, and their path is slippery... even unto death.

Prayer; Making Straight the Road of God’s Will

Is there an open road between you and God, or must you traverse the wilderness each time you want to visit, or speak with Him? When we become a frequent visitor somewhere, we look to make a straight road to our destination, and pave it with smooth stones. This is what incessant prayer does for us... it takes a rugged and wild way, and builds a road through that wilderness of sin; it makes our traveling towards God, and His return visits to us smooth and easy.
