As we walk in the way of the Lord we become stronger in our faith. When we experience the hardships and suffering of life God is provided with opportunities to increase us, and in this way, as we are approaching life in a righteous manner, God not only helps us, but also rewards our belief. However, for those who walk contrary to the way of God there is no betterment, or reward... only self awareness, the pain of conviction, vain attempts to return to joy by their own doing, and destruction at the hand of their self determination.

Have you sought after the blessing of Pentecost and yet it has eluded you? Have you prayed, wept, and pleaded for the Holy Spirit to reveal himself in you through tongues or other gifts... yet you feel unfulfilled? Or, maybe, you suddenly feel separated from the Spirit. When this happens it is not necessarily that you are unworthy, or no longer the child of God, but that the Lord has a lesson for you that can only come by a continued and determined seeking within yourself.

We are told to serve one another, but how, and in what way are we to do that? This subject is just as deep and profound as it relates to our faith as our prayers. You might argue this point, but think back on the life of Jesus. You may not have recognized all the acts of servitude He performed because He did them disguised as love, and shrouded in humility; yet there they are. His lesson on serving that He taught as He washed the feet of His disciples was just the most obvious and most frequently touted... yet quite possibly the least of them all.

You think you are righteous, after all you have been working at it diligently for quite some time, maybe all your life, and yet you fail at pretty much the same frequency that you always have... what is wrong? Why is progress in your faith so slow, or stalled? I am going to ask you a simple question that might possibly drill to the heart of your struggle... Are you continuously seeking Jesus for yourself, or have you said to him “here I am Lord, I am yours.”?
