When do we feel closest to God? Do we feel Him most when our stomachs are full, our lives are comfortable, and we have plenty of water to quench our thirst? If that were so then why is it that people are most inclined to wander away from Him at times such as this? No, we are most centered before Him when we are experiencing tribulation, and doing the hard things of His will. It is through the lenses of our tears that we see God most clearly, and It is also through them that He looks back at us, finding our soul, and peering deep into our heart... with perfect clarity.

Do you practice your faith? Practice is one of those words with more than a single  meaning, but I am talking about our doing something repetitively in order to improve how well you do it, or to do something regularly. If this is how you approach your faith, is that really enough? By way of example, how did Noah, or Abraham approach their faith? Did they simply practice it, or did they live it... walk in it... trust it?

Do you allow God to dwell with you? Is His spirit within you, and does it repair and revive your brokenness? When we first believe, we are inclined to wear our faith like a new suit; we feel good in it, and want to wear it all of the time, but it is still just a garment... never going any deeper than our skin. However, when the Holy Spirit arrives, and we breathe Him deep into us, something remarkable happens... our faith suddenly wells up from within us like a spring, and the external faith that we once put on, and could take off, becomes the person as well as the clothing.
