The Lord takes each of us into His hand as a weak and fragile thing, and then begins To remake us. He takes the broken and deformed among us, then makes us whole… strong enough to do His will. This is our God who can take a lowly worm, and make it like iron, and can even giving it teeth strong enough to crush mountains. Our Father transforms us from lost sinners into righteous men and women… into His own children. Are we ready to feel the change that faith in Jesus, and prayer in His name, is promised to bring us? Are we trusting, and brave enough, to believe, and thus become what we never dreamed possible?
“Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I am the one who helps you, declares the Lord; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. Behold, I make of you a threshing sledge, new, sharp, and having teeth; you shall thresh the mountains and crush them, and you shall make the hills like chaff;”
Isaiah 41:14-15 ESV
Over the years I have prayed with men and women who were totally broken, and who wept uncontrollably before the Lord in their despair, and hopelessness. I have watched as faith blossomed within them while praying, and their lives, and circumstances, suddenly, and miraculously, changed. I have witnessed prayer transform the weak in faith into giants, and seen them do incredible things for the Lord; I have seen the lost become leaders, the starving feed the masses, and once mighty soldiers become humble men of God. We look at ourselves and see what we are now, but God looks at us and sees what He will make of us… if we will just humble ourselves, and come to Him by believing, and having faith in His Son Jesus.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;”
2 Corinthians 5:17-18 ESV
Faith moves mountains, but it also moves us. It takes a selfish person and moves them to love others more than themselves. It takes all of the defenses we have built against believing in God, and crumbles them with a single prayer, and it moves a man who was once filled with sin, emotionless, and strong in the world, to fall prostrate as he weeps tears of contrition before Christ. Are we like the mountain, the unloving, the fortress, or the sinful and worldly man? If so, are we ready to meet Jesus Christ, and be transformed from the worm we are now into iron, and given the teeth of faith, and righteousness?
“Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,”
Acts 3:19-20 ESV
Prayer:
Father, thank you for your Son Jesus in whom we are redeemed, transformed, and blessed as our faith grows. Thank you Holy Father for every prayer you hear, answer, and especially for those in which we ask your forgiveness for the sins we have committed. Holy, Holy, Holy, are you our God who takes our weaknesses and makes them into strengths by which your will is served. Praised be your name for each degree of faith by which we are transformed, and made righteous. Merciful are you, and your grace is sufficient as we obey your will. Wash away our sins with the blood of Jesus, and make us worthy by His sacrifice. Hear our worship and praise as we approach your throne, and grant us life with you for all eternity. All glory is yours Lord, and we will sing of it forevermore.
